Please join us on Friday, April 17th, 2020 *POSTPONED TBD for the first in this year’s series of Hickory Arts house concerts featuring actor & vocalist Clint Brittain for an evening of Broadway musical numbers. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online. Only 30 seats are available. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Doors open at 7:30 pm for an “eat & greet” with the artist. The performance begins at 8 pm.

Clint Brittain joined band in sixth grade and played alto saxophone through completion of his Bachelor’s in Music Education where he studied with Ian Jeffress at Western Carolina University.

Brittain remained active in schools as a volunteer substitute teacher and foster home parent. By night, he lived out a stereotypical theatre kid's dream of working as a barista at a local Barnes & Noble with his biggest fans being the shampoo and conditioner bottles he would serenade daily.

He has always been a fan of musical theater, certainly a “closeted” theatre nerd, and only recently was brave enough to venture out and audition for a show. His first was The Green Room’s 2018 production of "Grease" in Newton, NC. Since he has participated in "Scrooge" and "Bright Star." Clint can also be found playing lead alto sax and doing a few vocal numbers for “The Bruce Long Orchestra.”

Clint began receiving vocal coaching at Hickory Arts in the summer of 2018 prior to "Grease" and is indebted to John and the studio for the progress he’s made as a vocalist, artist, and general human being. This evening he hopes to share some of his hopes and dreams through song with family, friends, and anyone kind enough to wander in.

Hickory Arts House Concerts are very intimate. Volunteers to “potluck” for the performer(s) and guests is strongly encouraged. All proceeds always go directly to the artist(s). No membership or personal invitation is required.

Hickory Arts is the “un-studio”—a simple, custom, non-event-driven teaching & production studio dedicated to coaching and empowering performance artists. The studio is located at 720 Second Avenue SW, Hickory 28602 behind ITP and across from Hickory Optimist Park (where you’ll also find additional parking).
