Corey Lovelace

Corey Lovelace hails from Chicago and has happily made her new home in Morganton, NC. This season Corey returns to the concert stage premiering new works by Ukrainian composer, Sophia Pavlenko. She recently made her debut as the title role in Susannah and covered the title role in Adriana Lecouvreur. Last summer Corey made her return to the opera stage performing Mimì in La Bohème with Opera North. In early 2020 Corey made her company debut with Opera Carolina as Musetta, in addition to covering the role of Mimì. She was delighted to join Andrea Bocelli as a guest artist for his Valentine's US Tour in February 2020 at the Spectrum Arena in Charlotte, NC.

Internationally, she has performed in China with the iSING! Music Festival and made her European debut with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Her performing credits include; Cendrillon in La Cendrillon, Nanita in How Nanita Learned to Make Flan, Kate in Lost Connection: The Tinder Opera, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and Lady Billows in Albert Herring. She received the First Place Award from the Opera Guild of Charlotte Competition.

Corey brings years of performing and teaching experience to Hickory Arts. Her greatest passion is sharing the joy of music and helping an artist discover their own, unique voices. Corey’s teaching is rooted in classical technique with a strong emphasis on musicianship, allowing her students to sing in a healthy way no matter the vocal style. Corey believes music has the ability to empower, strengthen, and inspire us in a way that touches our entire lives.

Corey is available for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Voice lessons at Hickory Arts.
