Hickory Arts is the “un-studio”—a simple, specialized, non-event-driven teaching & production studio dedicated to cultivating up-and-coming artists of all types & ages through a network of college-educated and active, professional, working artists.

Artist Development has quickly become the most popular plan for everything artists. What’s an “Everything Artist?” Well, HA was formed by a variety of working and teaching artists talented and skilled in more than one way who have committed to helping develop other jacks of all trades; singers who are songwriters who are actors who are composers who are musicians, etc. Artist Development is especially for those interested in pursuing an active, autonomous career as an everything artist.

Teachers Wanted If you’re a public or private instructor that needs a new home for your craft and your students, Hickory Arts wants to hear from you. More information can be found at https://www.hickoryarts.com/teacherswelcome

Hickory Arts History We continue to reflect on our history and the many parts the studio, our directors, and developing artists have played throughout the community, and across our social media platforms; as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. So, let's continue where we left off! Below you'll find highlights from our 2017 portfolio. If you have a Hickory Arts story or video you'd like to share, please join us by celebrating the studio and your artistry with the hashtag #hickoryartshistory *Newsletter | mailchi.mp/2853a299dd38/2016goingon2017?e=e53ace4661

When we think of legacy, we think of a quote from Shannon L. Alder. "Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you." Legacy isn't brick and mortar. It's how you choose to live and affect others.

Thank you for your continued support, stay safe and well, from all of us at Hickory Arts.

All my lovin',

Jeff Hartman
Artistic Director

Hickory Arts love nothing more than celebrating original work. Here's a look back to March 2017 at Hickory Arts piano student Abbey Reis and acting & guitar student Coble Hartman appearing in the next John David Brown, III original, "The Quirky Quest To Find The Unicorn’s Ukulele." John David is an inspiring playwright and artist. This is one of several shows he's written, directed, and beautifully staged at The Green Room over the years. #hickoryartshistory

A look back at April 9, 2017, at a shout-out to Hickory Arts alumna, Shannon Underwood, when she visited Disney World to record a new, original song. #hickoryartshistory

"I’m so blessed to have been able to work with this girl for almost a decade on acting, voice, songwriting, recording, life—you name it! She is precisely why I opened Hickory Arts—to forge personal relationships and nurture a productive, collaborative, mentoring experience throughout an artist’s career. When a student turned friend turned family believes in you as much as you believe in them, it’s magic. We wrote and recorded a new song while she was on holiday from performing as 'Elsa' in Disney World. I’m so proud of her and proud of the 'us' I pray will never fade. #blessismore
