Please join us on Saturday, July 18th for the next in this year’s series of Hickory Arts house concerts featuring “The Perfect Couple.” Tickets (“donations,” if you prefer) are $14 and can be purchased online or at Hickory Arts. Please call ahead as we are appointment only. Only 40 seats available. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Doors open at 7:30 pm for an eat & greet with the artists. Performance begins at 8 pm. Meet Greg & Abbey. The Perfect Couple. Everyone kept saying “You’re just The Perfect Couple!” So, now they are. They’ve been writing and making music together for 13 years, and married 11 of those years! They are bright and poppy and so is their music. Even though they’ve been living in Nashville for 6 years, the music they write and play is nothing like Nashville. Their album is available on iTunes and are working on a new project to be released this fall! Greg and Abbey obviously are in love! That’s kinda the foundation of their music. They write about the good parts and the bad parts! They also write a lot about what their friends and family go through and occasionally might fabricate a little bit. They have been married 10 years, and have 2 fur babies. Faith is 11, and Beastie boy is 3. When they get their bus, you better believe the dogs will be right there with them! Who doesn’t love fun and bright things? Well Greg and Abbey are nothing but. For short you can call them Grabby. From the way they dress, to what their live performance looks like, they are constantly bright and positive. If its not fun, they don’t wanna be a part of it. Some days are of course harder than others, but isn’t life better when you are choosing to be happy? Greg and Abbey started out in a hard rock band, and then broke from the band to form a duo. They started out as an acoustic pop act, which took many turns. They even dabbled in country. for a second. All of that leads them to where they are now and they wouldn’t take back any of it, because it’s made them who they are! They love Top 40, but also love Coldplay, U2, Dashboard Confessional , Adele, and many more artists similar to those. They take a little bit from everything they listen to and incorporate it into their writing. The Perfect Couple’s new EP is going to be nothing but perfect. They are super excited to release their new sound to the world. Abbey and Greg are very different vocally, but when they join forces, magic happens. It’s perfect. The new EP is a mixture of Katy Perry meets a little bit of Coldplay meets just really fun. Just take our word for it. It’s Popalicious.
